Republican House committee chairman joins call for Donald Trump to share his tax returns

Not to pile on Donald Trump, even though he makes himself such an easy target so often, but there's another person saying he should show us his tax returns.

Rep Jason Chaffetz on CNN 082416 to discuss Donald Trump taxesRep. Jason Chaffetz, during his Aug. 24 appearance on CNN's The Lead, joined the chorus of Republicans calling on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump to be more transparent about his wealth and health.

And it's another member of his own political party (again) .

Oversight chief sets sights on Trump: Rep. Jason Chaffetz  (R-Utah) is used to going after high-profile folks.

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee has been seeking the removal of Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen for more than a year. His Koskinen impeachment effort has made some limited progress in the House.

The Utah Republican also has accused Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton of perjury in connection with her Capitol Hill testimony about use of private email servers.

Now he's turning his gaze to his own party's White House candidate.

Trump's contention is that he can't /won't show the 1040s while they are under audit, which seems to be a perpetual process for The Donald.

That's not sitting well with the head of House Oversight. Trump, says Chaffetz, should make his tax returns public.

Well, he puts it in a much more, shall we say, colorful way.

“If you’re going to run and try to become the president of the United States, you’re going to have to open up your kimono and show everything, your tax returns, your medical records," Chaffetz told CNN.

Good luck getting that image out of your head!
