Last week at my other tax blog: Roth taxes; Congress' year-end tasks

It was a short Thanksgiving week, but I managed to squeeze in a couple of posts last week at my other tax blog.

Bankrate Taxes Blog icon If you converted a traditional IRS to a Roth in 2010, then you have to start paying taxes on half of the converted amount with you 2011 tax year filing.

Be sure you've taken into account those Roth taxes or you could face a shortfall when you fill out your 1040 next spring.

But we taxpayers aren't the only ones with year-end tax to-do lists. Since Congress wasn't able to piggyback a lot of bills onto a super committee plan, Representatives and Senators have many tax measures to consider in the few weeks left before Dec. 31.

You can check out new posts each Tuesday and Thursday at my Bankrate Taxes Blog. And if you happen to miss them there, you can find a wrap-up here each Saturday.
