Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Tom Daschle has now headed down the mea culpa road. In a letter to the Senate Finance Committee leadership, Daschle wrote: "As you can well imagine, I am deeply embarrassed and disappointed by the errors that required me to amend my tax returns. You still have a time to put a few (or more) bucks down on the game. Folks who apparently are in the know tell me that bets can be placed right up to the 6:20 p.m. Eastern time kickoff.
