Tax bracket pay raise

Win a copy of TurboTax Deluxe Online

Have you been putting off doing your taxes because you haven't gotten around to getting software yet?

Wait no more! The folks at Intuit have sent me three prepaid cards, each which will allow you access to the company's TurboTax Deluxe Online 2008 filing software.

TurboTax Online

The system is much like the boxed program, only you don't have to load the box CD or download anything to your computer. Just sign on to and do your taxes.

And with one of these prepaid cards, when you get to the "review fees" screen, you type in the card's code. The code will get you one free federal and state tax return preparation and e-file.

As I mentioned, I have three of these nifty little cards, so I'm going to distribute them in stages.

For this first giveaway,
simply leave a comment at this post
by 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.

This isn't tax class, so you don't have to write an essay. I'll be using to select the winner, you guessed it, randomly. select the winner. I'll drop that lucky reader an e-mail note and get the address as to where I should mail the card.

If you don't happen to win this first card, don't worry. Like I said, II have two more and once we get this first giveaway stage out of the way, I"ll let you know how you can have a second and third shot at the free TurboTax Deluxe Online 2008.

And be sure to check out these tax tips from Bankrate on choosing tax prep software and your e-filing options.

Alex J,

the IRS does not charge you to efile, it is the software comapny or preparer.

Great Blog, Count me in

I've never used the online version of TurboTax. It would be fun to check it out. Especially for free!

You still need to know the tax laws in order to use the sofware correctly.

"...Mr. Geithner said he used Intuit Inc.'s TurboTax program to prepare his return in 2001, and said he didn't recall the software prompting him for payroll taxes owed on his IMF income..."

Johan Ericsson

I'm in for one. :)

Great Blog...please add me to the drawing

That is exciting. As a former Jackson Hewitt employee I will tell you that this software works just as well as what we have in our office. The only difference is a couple months of training for the more difficult returns.

Oops! Didn't yet read your comments about free fillable forms for all income levels, may have to give that a try this season.
