Good golly, Ms. Molly

Ivins_2 Molly Ivins can't say that, can she?

Yes, she can.

Yes, she did.

My favorite of her many memorable comments: "What you need is sustained outrage. There's far too much unthinking respect given to authority." She was true to her word to the end, as evidenced in her last column, published on Jan. 11.

Thanks, Molly, for speaking up. Texas, and the world, has lost yet anotherUppitywomenunite_2_1 insightful, incisive, irreverent and irreplaceable woman.

The only consolation is knowing that Molly and Ann are now keeping everyone in the hereafter in line and in stitches.

Mo' Molly: John Nichols of The Nation offers this very nice tribute. And don't miss The Texas Observer's very personal take on the passing of its former editor, as well the links to its many things Molly.

I'd have more respect for people like Molly Ivins if they would be critical of both Democrats and Republicans. I would submit to you if Clinton was still in office she'd be fawning over how we've brought freedom to the Iraqi people.

I am filled with joy that I will never have to read another one of her columns (unless, of course, she has a stash of paper made from asbestos).

What a great loss. I have been a fan of Molly's for many years. And will miss her insight and wit on all things political and social.
